Why did I see an icon on my screen appear saying install Lichess? I've always just played from a browser. Is there an advantage to playing on an installed Lichess?

On phone the app is better suited to small screen. Other than that there is no advantage.

Open the play store.
Next search the lichess app on search bar.
Next install the lichess app.

Thanks folks. I think I understand now. if you're using Lichess on a phone, you install it. On a computer, like I'm using, You run off a browser.

I'm afraid the Russians control your device and already have full access to it.

I was always afraid something like that was gonna happen. That's why I didn't post about the FIDE, but it happened anyway!
