can I improve my game by playing against computers

Well, yes you CAN. But playing against humans will make you improve faster, IMO.

Humans make mistakes
Computers make mistakes ( For computers they don't, but for humans there are mistakes)
also never forget the one who created computer's.
Sometimes even computer's go wrong.

If you analyze every game you played against engine (or human) you will learn for sure.

I think playing against humans will help you improve more.the problem with computers are that sometimes the play like the same opening forever like stockfish 8 will only play the berlin as black unless lichess makes it stronger and even if you find a bot who is humanly enough the problem will be that they dont resign like when you gain material by a tatic normal people tend to resign bots dont so ...i have gotten plus 3 positions against bot and could never get a win.
