Hi, please forgive this naive question: Is there a way to raise ranking playing again the computer? (I mean full games.)
When I play puzzles, my rank goes up (ideally). Is there a way to play full game vs. computer and gain a rank like that?
How?
Thx!

You can play against bots either rated or casual.
See for example the Maia bots:

What are the worse bots I can play rated with?

Here are the bots:

seems like one's with 'random' in the name are the worst.
How surprising! ;-)

You can win games by winning from the computer.
Here is the solution.
Step 1:-Go to Community
Step 2:- Click on Player
Step 3:-On the left, Click on Online Bots
Step 4:- Challenge any low rated bot and gain rating
Eg:-
@maia1
@maia5
@maia9

Once your rating stabilizes, you will have more fun playing other humans. I guarantee it!

I like to play Maia1 once in a while to have a steady sparing partner and see where i am with my chess. The Maia bots are always there and hopefully fairly steady in their strength. I used to lose a lot to Maia1, but lately i have been winning most games, an encouraging development.
I agree though, that playing humans is still more interesting.
One thing i dislike about playing a bot (like Maia) is the move time is like clockwork. Not human at all.
I think that one of the interesting things about playing against humans is when they pause to think. You can feel this thinking pause when the game reaches a critical point. An interesting, and i suspect important facet when playing humans.
