Importing multiple (hundreds) of games to lichess

I forgot to mention that there may be a number of chapters limit in the studies. I would assume that the import mechanism might make chapters out of the game set, one chapter per game. Unless the games have already been put together per common trunk, then it might become a tree limit which one chapter.

I had understood the op asking about own games. I would not put a whole 1000 games batch.... Because then, maybe yes dedicated software first. make more thematic sub-sets and then import. Studies are great because they offer the possibility of some collaborative analysis, besides the interactive integration to other lichess tools, but that is not a requirement. you can have private studies.. and then clone them for less private. but #10 option might be a good intermediate or its own purpose.

@migrassil The issue with fully going into Lichess is that I am sort of vendor locked into chess.com as I have over 2 thousand games played there (plus my friends play on the site) and only recently learned about lichess. With this amount of games played and if you are looking to improve, statistics and history become important so making a transition suddenly is quite hard. I do hope to make it eventually, so this post was kind of a starting point at least for me in decreasing my dependence on chess.com and slowly transitioning to lichess.

If it is a transition issue it's no problem.

Playing parallel on chess.com and using up the resources of lichess was my issue.

Lichess actually encourages us to import games for analysis and study from both chess.com and chessgames.com

They allow us to do so using URLs.

I do this all the time to create studies, etc.

Lichess also has limits on how much of their analysis resources we can use; it seems to me that they have things well in hand.
