@Darksouls You might not be interested in variants (I'm not a variant player either) But it's his or her choice to get better at a variant. If he or she finds it fun and interesting, by all means go ahead. You might not make a living off of playing it, but it's still a fun hobby and a good way to take a break from serious chess study.
