That's exactly what the master database is. What works and what is played at the highest level for both sides.

#4: Master game statistics are the most accurate indication of an opening's strength. If we can't learn from masters' openings, then we can't learn anything from master games. People who know what they're doing and push Chess to its limit are the ones to learn from.
