I think Chess.com is better than lichess

If you want only one reason.

  1. All functionality are free, and the source code is open.

  2. The interface is more clean.

  3. The web is more fast.

1 its free
2 they didnt send me a single spam email
3 my personal data and nav habits are not sold to shady data miners
4 i never saw a single unwanted popup
5 people, except some obvious exceptions, are educated
6 they didnt press me with constant subscription offers.
7 yes they got cheaters but i am not so stupid and unfair as to blame lichess for their existence
8 even if chesscom was better i'd never abuse anonnimity just to get an ego boost

I find lichess visually much more appealing and clearly structured, and I also find the menu navigation at lichess more logical.

  2. The visual is super intuitive on Lichess, if you need to go somewhere it's far more obvious than in its junk concurrent (not worthy calling "concurrent").
  3. People on Lichess are polite and respectful.
  4. You can play puzzles unlimitedly on Lichess. On chess.com, barring rich, you can only play 3 puzzles a day.
  5. You need only 1 click of a button on Lichess to start a game. On chess.com, it's much harder to even choose what time control you wanna play.
  6. Lichess does everything to not distract the chess player with ads blockers. Chess.com just puts an ads of Fanta everywhere to win money than they have already with users' memberships.
  7. Chess.com advertises GMs to win even more money than users' memberships and ads. As if they didn't have enough money to use it for a noble cause.
  8. Lichess has free source code available to reuse, Chess.com is laggy to load those infamous ads.
