I am 2100 blitz and 2300 bullet at 14, is it too late to take chess to a professional level for me?

I am 14 and recently seeing young prodigies I have been doubting if being a GM is an unrealistic dream of mine. I want to reach chess at a professional level, but I feel like I have started too late.
If you are planning to become a professional, the only rating that matters is FIDE. Do you have one? Are you actively playing in FIDE rated tournaments?
At 14, you're certainly not too old but need to prioritise your goals. I'd strongly advise getting a trainer as well.
Hard to say but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to become a GM by playing only blitz and bullet. (Unless FIDE changes its regulations in a revolutionary way, that is.)
It is very unlikely. If you are not at the very least FM level at 14 (and preferably IM or even GM) it is basically unheard of to succeed in chess professionally. And being a pro chess player is very tough - unless you are like 2700 or higher you don't do very well just by playing.

You can still become a strong player, become titled, give lessons etc. But the truth is you would be an extreme outlier if you became a GM, if you're at this level at 14 years old. It has been done before - Rubinstein became a GM after learning chess at age 16, but it's extremely rare and probably much harder to do nowadays.
You can become a pro in chess training matters, chess book selling, carving chess pieces and so on.
i also want to become a pro chess player, i also started a bit late though :(

why though? what if you practice chess and by the time ur eg 20 ur an FM? by the time ur 25 you are a GM probably
NO its awesome, some of my friends are CM at 18 even 19 years old. I think you should continue
Staunton played his first game at about age 26, I believe. And he played some devilishly good games!

But so far as I know he was never called a grandmaster. Even though, between you, me, and the fencepost, he was essentially world champion for a time -- it's just that Steinitz hadn't yet made that "a thing" with real formality.

Making a living from chess would be wonderful. But it's a relatively rare accomplishment. So, if it were me (Lordy, of course it's not), I wouldn't neglect other possibilities. After all, one can still take school very seriously while continuing to work on chess (and even getting a trainer) and -- just see what happens!

I guess what I am saying is -- don't be discouraged overmuch by doubters -- but it's wise to have a Plan B in my opinion, regardless.

But, I must say, 2100 blitz at 14 is pretty freakin' awesome!

Thank you for your comment even though it was meant for someone else :)
