Please delete the other thread with a similar title. I spelled chessboard wrong.
I recently bought a physical chessboard in hopes of improving my game via practicing. In addition to replicating moves seen in youtube videos how else can I utilize this tool to enhance my game via practicing? I'm not referring to playing others. I'm referring to individual practicing.

@groovynwhippy
Mainly
- Study master games. Especially good commented games.
- Analyse your own games and master games. Make annotations, try to find where the mistakes were, without the help of an engine. After the analyse, compare your finds with the commented game or the engine.
- Study endgames.
- Play puzzles.
And so on.
I prefer playing/analysing chess otb than in the computer.
And have fun

Jeez, you make it sound like a ouija board or something. Just get some wood or plastic pieces and move em around on there...it's fun!

I sometimes use a physical chessboard as a practice tool for learning pawn endgames. It's fast to set up 3-4 men on a board. It's possible for me to remember such simple positions relatively quickly too. Pawns and kings go very slowly, so I can follow lines with a book almost without mistakes.

Your pawns go very slowly?
Your pawns go very slowly?
They are slow until a pawn race begins. Then a king cannot catch them.

Start using your board to solve puzzles. Spend and hour ... or all day ... on each one until you are sure ...
You will be amazed at what happens to your otb play ...
And don't watch Hikaru do a speed run till you are at least 1500 !
