How to premove?

Hi all,

Apologies if this is answered somewhere already, but I've done a fair bit if searching the website and googling and can't find an answer. I've seen reference to "pre-moves" and "conditional pre-moves", so I know it must be possible, but for the life of me I cant figure out how to do them! Can anyone help me out here? Specifically, on the android app, and mainly I'm asking about correspondence games.

Thanks in advance!

Not sure on app if it's the same , but go to the microscope button, analyze your game/ moves and at the bottom " add current variation " and you can add a few variations.

Premoving can be enabled on preferences, the way you do it once it is enabled is to 'make a move' before it's your turn. If the move is legal, it will do that move. Hope this helped!

I don't know if you can do then in correspondence, though- it might cancel the premove when you leave the game or something..

Thanks guys! You're both right. Premoves can be done in correspondence, and it seems to be persist only as long as I keep the app open. As far as I can tell, conditional premoves are not available on the app - only on the website. Hopefully that's a feature they're thinking of adding in the future. Thanks again for your help!

In correspondence click on the microscope and you should see an option.
In standard time controls just make a move the same way you would making any move on your opponent's turn. After your opponent make his/her move if you move is legal it will automatically make that move for you and it doesn't take time off your clock.

at least, it shouldn't take time off.. sometimes it loses you .02 or something for no reason :(
