How to play for a draw?

Trying to play for a draw is an art that I have not yet acquired. Any suggestions?
Is there even a way to set a chess engine to play for a draw ?

Don't play for a draw. At your level, you should always play to win.
As for how to play for a draw, try to win and if your opponent doesn't mess up it's a draw, and if they do you win.

Where are the teaching tools to learn how to play for a draw?
There are openings that are more prone to a draw.

If you have a player that is much higher rated then your own, then it would be much more logical to transpose into a drawn position then to try to win against the odds. I would try to early in the game to exchange Queens and balance the pawn structure. It's probably easier to draw then trying to win a much higher rated player.

Winning a game can be done in multiple ways, which includes drawn games.
All chess players need to learn when their odds are better to play for a draw.

You'll never improve if you think like that.

Thinking about playing for draw, I only do if I play against an inferior partner.
Always hoping, I don't wake up some Admin this way ;-)

Chess is sports. No agreements. No doping, over a cup of coffee. Better player wins.
Or you will ruin yourself.
