How to go from 1600-1700 to 2000?

Are there any tips that anyone has to cross 2000 in rapid? I feel like I've been playing kind of badly recently, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong exactly. What do I need to learn or understand that I haven't learned yet?

I had the same thing two years ago, so learn the theory of a lot of useful openings (for slow control!), think about your style of play and your goals, play a lot, especially in tournaments, tactics are useful if you understand that you have to take the time you need, don't overdo it ! read blogs and forums, where other people have already been there, be motivated and take your time and have fun! You can do it ! Greeting !

Get a chess coach if you cannot figure out yourself. In my case I tried a lot of trial an error. I improved my game by myself. I used chess books.

given you current strength for several hundreds of points in future you have lose less of you pieces

Blundering pieces most common reason for losing games at least up 1500/1600 level and to a degree even above.

No point learning opening if hang your queen.

So my biggest problem is blundering material still. I just do little bit less than you do.

as you can see from analysis on videos above 1200 and 1100 player lose on blunders just rate tiny bit lower for 1200

Don't know if this will work for you, but FWIW...
In the 1990s I went from 16-1700 to over 2000 in OTB. Now I didn't stay over 2000, but for about 5 or 6 years my rating bounced up and down from 1950+_ to 2070. I was doing some things right, but not enough to cement myself in that expert bracket.
I began to broaden my opening repertoire. I spent a lot less time trying to remember all the theory, and focused on trying to understand middlegame plans. I sent a bit of time on basic endings, in particular with Levenfish and Smyslov's book on Rook endings. (never finished it, but I did get value from the work I put in) I spent a lot of time with collections of master games. I also got a copy of the ECM-combinations. Which was a bit over my head, but forcing myself to work through some of it did improve my calculating ability.

Hope that helps.

Don't try to go for numbers but try to improve your chess. Ask yourself where your weaknesses are at and work on them.

Although I’m not a 2000+ rated player, I suggest you to work on some chessbooks involving planning and strategy

Hi, how did you reach 1600? what did you study?

You want to understand the opponents plan and do tons of tactical puzzles to improve you tactical insight.Have a follow up for most of your moves.Check for Checks,Captures, and attacks. Look at the logic of every move. Dont waste any moves in the opening. Improvise your piece placement in the middlegame. Calculate before going for anything fancy. And watch gothamchess, he is good.

Hope this helps.
