Random mode? You mean healthy mix? I saw a video on youtube that healthy mix is not good. And it's better to play certain categories like opening, middlegame, endgame, and crushing.

crushing isnt a category you can select for training. its just the swing in computer evaluation.

endgames puzzles are a pretty slow and inefficient way to improve your endgame (its good for calculation skills but very very hard). better to look for studies and coaching videos/courses etc to recognize certain endgame positions and immediately know what to do when you see a "lucena position" etc. ill add video link in the end for silmans complete endgame course.

checkmate puzzles from time to time are nice tho or if dashboard recognizes any big leaks then why not replay some to see why you failed the motif more often than others. personally i dont replay much, hate the deja vu feeling that occurs, there has to be a pretty big dent in the dashboard web so i get motivated.

To become good at puzzles than before
Serious now: take your time analyse every square and calculate maximum variations

Sit on your hands and look for all checks, captures, and threats and run each to ground.

I think the best way is to do a healthy mix but if you study a book ( how to beat your dad at chess ) you should do puzzles on stuff your studying. Endgame tactics are worth doing on their own

I really find it hard to solve puzzles especially with waiting moves.

First you have to identify in which kind of puzzles you fail. It means that you need training there.

Got puzzles, once one is loaded, at the left there is a link called theme puzzle. Click it, pick that particular type of puzzle and train it.
