You should give more info. What type of macbook air and what type of DGT board? There is a page on the DGT site which I am not going to waste one of my allotted links to, but it reads, "The DGT e-Board with Bluetooth wireless communication was released in July 2009. A conversion kit to convert a wired serial or USB board to a Bluetooth board is available for some models of e-Boards. These boards can only be converted if there is an extra compartment available for the rechargeable battery. This compartment can be identified as a separate lid on the bottom of a USB e-Board or a Serial e-Board. Without a second lid it is not possible to convert your e-Board to a Bluetooth e-Board.
For tournament situations with multiple boards we recommend another wireless technique called the DGT Caïssa System. For more details on Caïssa please visit our web shop."
By the looks of it, your DGT board is probably older.

how to connect my dgt board to mac without bluetooth...
I have a wire to connect it to USB-C.
So... have tried this?
Also, you are asking random people on the Internet to help you with your problem without giving any details. Like, what board do you have? What steps have you taken? And so on.

AlligatorCheckmater: I do have a compartment under my DGT eboard (it dates from 2020).
or do you think I can buy this conversion kit.
bufferunderrun: sorry I don't know what details to give... my chessboard is a DGT eboard as I said. and my computer a macbook air.
When I connect my macbook air with my chessboard, the DGT Live Chess application doesn't recognize the chessboard.
thanks again for your help and your time

If you have that compartment, you might want to contact them. Take out the * character.

Are you using a normal USB cable or is it a tournament one with a serial-USB adapter?

What do you have under Serial Ports --> Manage serial ports?

I didn't know that tournament cables existed. Do you think it works on a Mac?
it is written in serial port management: tty.usbmodem01
the "present" box is checked but not the "online" box

And by "online" box, I assume you mean "In use", right?
Have you tried to check the box to the left then going to the menu below (gear icon in the right bottom corner) and selecting Enable serial port?
P.S.: I'm not sure what additional steps are required, if any, since I've only used the program on Linux and Windows. But I've seen people using Macs, so yes, it works.
