ask @thibault he is the main programmer of the site. coincidentally, he runs the whole place as well
I thought Lihcess code was hosted on github in a collaborative format that anyone could contribute to at any time.
#1 Don't ask for that.
Develope lichess and be developer!!!
Those who contribute to lichess with code on GitHub get the developers badge. Lichess’ main repository is this https://github.com/ornicar/lila
Don't ask me.. I have the same question even though I got no code
If you don't know scala, but still want to help Lichess you can also have a look at fishnet : https://lichess.org/get-fishnet
As for contributing code: the first step is to set up a development environment https://github.com/ornicar/lila/wiki/Lichess-Development-Onboarding
Then you can have a look at issues and feature requests https://github.com/ornicar/lila/issues and check if there is something you are able to fix / improve.
Good luck and have fun!
This thread gives me the idea for a suggestion. It would be interesting if someone would put up a youtube video of what the whole process is like to make the smallest improvement or fix the simplest kind of issue on Lichess' github. The entire process from start to finish.
A thread about volunteering encourages people to ask other people to do stuff.
It's a miracle Lichess exists.
