Lichess supports imgur dot com images. Just put the web link for a photo on imgur dot com in your profile info and you're set.

If I create a imgur account, could I use my own photo for homepage?
Go to imgur. com/upload, in computer, upload image, after few secs copy the link, and paste it on your profile. Lichess supports imgur.com and giphy.com

I think there is no need to create an imgur account, you can upload without it. So, yes.
