I sometimes run into opponents that have ratings above 2000 in classical games, and the reason I ran into them is because they just started playing classical and have a lower rating than their actual rating, and I usually just abort the game. When I do that, a message in the chat tells me that if I keep on aborting games, it will result in a temporary ban. I was wondering how many games can you abort until it leads to a ban...
Update: I just got banned, happened the same day I posted this. Luckily, the ban is only 10 minutes

The expectation on Lichess is that you will play every game you engage in. If you're worried about playing strong players, you can restrict the range of players you wish to face.
However, playing strong players is the best way to improve!

Yes, I agree with #2. Why shy away from stronger players if you can learn from the game? Also you will hardly lose rating points in case you lose the game, because of their provisional rating.

@Xuansz
Yeah I think both #2 and #3 answered your question. But you only have a game completion rate of 60% which is dangerously low. Don't abort anymore games or you can get a play ban very soon

Cowardice warrants a ban.

@KrausRaus Not always. A 1600 facing several 2000s in a row is not how the pairings system should work. Then again, aborting too many games ruins the game for the other player.
