Although that's probably the number for all players, active or inactive. Given that there were 550 thousand blitz players this week, I'd guess about 1 million weekly users.
At minimum, 210,205 people on lichess.

Simple math regarding blitz:
I am now 1938 in blitz ranked 75,096 and better than 86.4% of blitz players. That means 75,096 are 13.6% of blitz players.
That means that 100% of blitz players are something like 552,176 players.
I'm not sure if it counts only active players, and some users don't even play blitz, but the there are at least 552,176 blitz players so there are more than 552,176 lichess users.
Ohhh, i have to share this. i was viewing an old lichess forum, where they had a discussion on how many lichess users were there, and 4 years ago they had 1.1 million, and over 100,000,000 games that year. i i will send the link to this forum.
