How can I add a picture to my profile?

I have seen many people attaching some sort of pic in their profile how do they do it

Use imgur (normal) giphy (for animated)

also in addition going to off topic it would still easier to use search box in forums main page

will tell in most puzzling question of this nature the answer. This particular question pops up more than once in a month
