how are points calculated?

You cannot get to 2000 playing weak opponents (unless you are a 2000 player) as you would gain just point of two from wins and loads of points for every loss which will come. There are several threads were this has been discussed. people who do this on average maintain their rating with just increased variance. It would work just the same in FIDE ratings, just you dont get to choose your opponents.

And to maintain 2000 ratings without skills, one woudl need a computer to avoid the few eventual losses that would drop the rating back
