Here is a strategy question and a good one

Why would castling be a blunder? I have heard only a very little about bad castling; I haven't read about it yet nor found anything on Lichess about that or defending a castle position . Stockfish at 8 level just blows right through mine.

or if you miss a hanging piece by castling instead

Also of course if you have mate and castle (into mate yourself as @bufferunderrun just mentioned)
To sum it up, castling is good but sometimes not the best move to play.
