Have I reached maximum study move length?

In one of my chapters, I can't input any more moves into it... in any position it just takes the move right back.
Is there even a limit to the number of moves allowed in one chapter?

For chapter 3.Bg5 I have reached 3000 moves, most likely that's the limit right?

First of all, I want to congratulate you that is a fairly complete study, awesome!!!

I'm not sure if 3000 is the move limit, and how do you know you made 3000 moves? I don't see where you can see

I see that you have some lines of erroneous moves but they are still commented, very well explained, but there are also other lines that do not have any fixed comments and do not contribute anything to the study, have you tried to erase those moves?

Wtf I just wanted to ask a question and then suddenly there are 6 spectators, the study is being edited & someone liked the study.... supposed to be kind of full tournament repertoire prep..

I'll just close it off now

oh sorry about that, people are curious and maybe they wanted to help

@Tryoesk
Thank you! I right clicked the option to delete my chapter 3 starting from move one and it asked if I would like to confirm deleting 3000 moves & 451 comments

For some of the positions which are unclear, I mark them with the word "Research" so that I can check it with stockfish later when I have the time, currently reading a book and taking notes as I go through it :)

Oh of course, I see, well, even so the moves that I mentioned were different lines but with only 1 move, i saw some like this, and those if you could eliminate them one by one without affecting the study

well, I no longer have access to a study, could you check if there is any other chapter with that problem? (or with a number close to 3000 movements)

It seems that if it is the limit of moves, you should create another chapter with the continuation of the position and maybe the same name so that it is less confusing.

@Tryoesk
Ooooo I seee, probably should clean those up and just delete them hahah

The other chapters aren't as dense as this one so they have never reached 2000 moves, let alone 3000 moves. First time I've experienced this and I definitely think considering the round 3000 number that this is the upper limit!

Yess, I've separated that one chapter to 2 parts and it's working completely fine now :) Thank you!

if you want to share a study in the forum, which is likely to involve more people, and would like them to be able to make example suggestion there, but would like to keep your orginal study intact, I would suggest you clone your study, and keep the original private or with minimal non-member permissions (From the study main settings). The cloned one you can make public for the duration of your thread, and could unsync or sync depending on the type of collaboration.

Maybe you knew this already. just making sure that these options are out there.
