Giuoco Pianissimo with Qb8-Qa7

I remember that there was a trendy variation of the Giuoco Pianissimo a couple years ago, where black plays Bb6 instead of Ba7, and then lines their queen up behind it on a7. But I can't remember how to get to that position. It's something I never studied but should look at.

Does anyone know the position I'm talking about?

@afluffydog I'm not sure whether you are talking about this variation, but it was played a lot by Ding Liren last year. Just look it up in a database.

Here are some examples:

The idea of activating the queen via a7 is not new. The oldest game I could find was Janowski - Rubinstein. It's not the same opening, but the same pawn structure.

Thanks!

I assume it's the same variation, though I mostly remember seeing So and Giri playing it.

But I can't find any of this Qb8-Qa7 maneuver in games where white plays an early Bb3. I always play Bb3 in response to d6, maybe that's why I never see it?

@afluffydog Do you have chessbase? In chessbase you can search for specific positions. You are given an empty board and then you can put a queen on b8/a7 and a bishop on b3. Then you can find all games played till now.
Not sure if SCID can do that, but that feature should be part of every good database software

No, I don't have any software at all. I just use chesstempo.com for my openings and Lichess for a database.
