Everything That You Need To Know About Chess Cheaters

@bobflanagan1

Over and over again, I hear people say that he only cheated when he was 12.

Did he not say that he cheated, and was banned, once when he was 12 and also once when he was 16?

These are two completely different scenarios.

As far as I understand, he openly admits to cheating at 12, together with a friend at a chess.com - titled tuesday tourney, and on his own accord at 16 in regular (non-tournament) play, to push his rating and increase the amount of viewers for his streams, which was a source of income for him, at the time.

Very well said.

I wish this thread could close on that note.
I don't know how I deserved that kind of mocking. In your first posting you forgive one "Hans" without explaining which person you refer to. Before deciding whether I read on I'd like to know what this thread is all about.

@Sybotes

Oh, apologies, I thought that you were hinting that, "The sooner we forget about him, the better."

Hans Niemann is a GM who is currently being dethroned because he cheats.

He wasn't insulting you he was insulting Grandmaster Hans Niemann, as he continues to do.

@LegendaryQueen

Hans has done himself in.
All I've done is point out what he's done, why it's bad, and how the chess world has responded.

Eyon-Chess shared:

From chess.com press release yesterday or today:

"We have shared detailed evidence with him concerning our decision, including information that contradicts his statements regarding the amount and seriousness of his cheating on Chess.com"

It is VERY bad for cheating to have this much visibility.
It multiplies it by the second.

If it HAS to be forefront and mainstream, then let's at least use it's presence to excoriate the presence of cheating in our sport.

If we have this much empathy for Hans...then we should be sending compensation cheques to all of his many victims.

Also, we should empathize with Carlsen and try to understand what it would take for him to drop out.
People have assumed that it was foundless.

Also, we should take a second to try to understand the mountain of evidence that chesscom must have for them to go to this extreme.

It's bewildering how much empathy Hans has gotten from people.
I hope that I receive that same amount of grace if/when I screw up.

It's an absurd and obscene smear campaign.

Carlsen figures he can end the war in Ukraine by saying "Peace is cool -- war, not so much."

And he can end Hans Niemann's career by saying, "Oooh I lost, well, maybe he cheated."

Sadly to the one and fortunately the other,

He cannot.

yes, @Onyx_Chess ending this threat might be better.

people do not want to think about cheating.

example for an offtopic statement: HN looks so sweet.
Maybe, but that doesnt matter.

lets encourage "kids" at age of 12 , and adolescents at age of 16 to cheat.
it is simply the best age to cheat.

cheating of GM s? well ... if you lose one game, you re of the hook. GMs might be clever. But cheaters are not able to pause their behaviour.

Do not call HN, who admitted to have cheated and banned for that 2 times already,
but now , according to chess.com again downplayed the extent of his cheating.
a cheater.

That clearly is too offending. much much more a bad thing than to cheat.

according to @LegendaryQueen , it seems, there are no cheaters at all, and no problem , too.

"all wars in ukraine will end"? good example. just by erasing the word "cheater" and "war" from our dictionary.

fortunately, this will work for putin and, hopefully, @LegendaryQueen .

sadly, not for me.
