Elometer Endgame Test

I did this one a year ago. I got 38 of 48 correct. I spent no more than 10 secs on each to see how much I already knew without much, if any, calculation. Rather than make a study on the elometer positions I then created my endgame studies and practice.

The top level endgame study is here

43 There were 2 I would have gotten if I weren't clicking through fast after dinner (with wine) with the TV on. The others I just misjudged. Even though I missed some, I thought they were basic, building block endgames.

I kind of sped through the questions and didn't analyze too much so I only got 30 right.

Pretty sad for my rating. But then again, I've always found a way to throw away a winning endgame.

This was interesting nonetheless. Thanks for sharing!

How strange - I also have 43 AND "There were 2 I would have gotten" one : I somehow seen wrong color of my bishop
second : I judged well but somehow checked answer incorectly ...

by the way -how mind sometimes goes blind - few days ago - doing puzzle - I have seen Q+ stops my attack - for 2-3 minuts--- untill I saw that pawn can take that Q......

Cezrun64- Odd things happen OTB sometimes. One game I'll never forget, I had what I thought to be a winning move against a strong player, Steve Spencer. I checked it 3x, intended to play it, reached my hand to play it and then saw my hand play a different move. It gave Steve 1 move to start a deadly counter attack and he won. (It was still a memorable game.)

In the endgame test, in 1 position my glance at the board I miss-saw the king 1 step farther from the queening square than it really was. I've already forgotten the second position.

I'd much rather win a real endgame than ace some silly test.

I only got 29; but I already know endgames are my weakness I need to work on next.

#19 The report given after you finish tells you how many you got right, but also gives the solutions for each puzzle - whether you got the puzzle right or wrong. I did not find any errors in their solutions.
