ELO Performance Rating

Hi all:

I know that whenever players play in real life they have an ELO performance rating next to the real rating in tournaments. What does the ELO performance rating mean and how is it different then the ELO rating?

Would lichess be interested in making an ELO performance rating?

of course, performance ratings don't make sense outside of a context and lichess already gives performance ratings for tournaments

ok i think i understand that based on the wikipidia article. It's basically calculated based already on the OTB rating, which means that lichess wouldn't be able to implement that since you would need an ELO rating system.

How are performance ratings calculated on lichess? Is it just an average of glicko-2 rating?

Glicko and Elo should reach the same rating, only Glicko gets to the right rating faster, but at the expense of more calculations. Elo was conceived around 1970 and could be calculated without a computer.

A performance rating of a player in an event is the rating that player should get from playing in that event as if he was not rated i.e. as if he had not played any rated game before.
