Don't Use the Queen to grab a Pawn in the Corner?

Reading a book today, it said practically never should you grab a pawn that's diagonal to the Rook...like if you're White, to grab the b7 or g7 pawn.
What do you all think of this rule?
(maybe because it'd waste too much time just for a pawn? or that your Q will get trapped down there out of action? or maybe even caught?)
Depends on the position I think. Sometimes Ive grabbed a pawn with my queen and then got quickly destroyed as you've just unleashed a monster rook with an open file. What book are you reading?
Two things you often need to watch out for are

1. make sure your queen isn't getting trapped after the rook moves. Usually, your queen only has one or two safe squares to retreat to since the rook on b8 or g8 covers that entire recently opened file.

2. Your own b2/g2 pawn may be unguarded, so after your queen is chased away your opponent might just get the material back with tempo.

As @NeverBeenTimid said, though, it totally depends. You just have to decide whether the 2 moves you spend taking the pawn and then moving your queen back are worth it, since you usually fall behind in development.
Tao of Chess is the book.
Yeah, I'm aware of the free pawn if Rook attacks Q with protection from N... but talking about the common line where after R attacks Q, she only can move to that outside file.
It's like eating a super spicy meal.. that pawn on b2 just looks so yummy. Several hours later, while sitting on the porcelain throne, you realize the truth... and (in cliche like fashion) thats when you realize that the truth hurts.
@DrHack But I like spicy food.

Something chess has never taught me.

Is a pawn worth your queen being out of play on the side of the board? I wouldn't say so in most cases.
Sometimes the Q binds enemy forces and is a nuisance in the enemy camp. No-one can say something in general, it depends on every single position. Then you can decide whether it's better or not.

Or, as a friend of mine remarked: Would you have moved there if there hadn't been a pawn?

PS: I like really hot food (actually I am growing chilis) and I am used to it without regretting it.
I only grab that pawn when i want to show how much i disrespect my opponent.
You are wasting time with your queen, bringing her out of play, and opening up a file for your opponent's rook to quickly get counterplay. Take this position for example:

I could play 16...Qxe2, but decided against it as it would give white way too much compensation after something like 16...Qxe2 17.Rfe1 Qh5 18.Re7
