Is there any differnce between the two rating systems? If so, does that mean that a 800 chess.com player is better then a 800 Lichess player, or it it the other way around?
Chess.com starting rating is 1200, meaning 50% of players are below or above the rating. Lichess starting rating is 1500, lichess rating is usually 300 points higher but that difference is smaller when you reach 2200.
The two sites use different rating systems. In my experience, Lichess ratings are about 1/3 higher than chess.com ratings.
This makes me feel less than wonderful about my Lichess rating....

I am 2200 in both chess.com and lichess.
On above, 2500+, lichess rating is harder than chess.com

Its an accurate measurement of skill level.
It doesnt really bother me anymore, because on another site i couldnt break the 1800 barrier, but here ive had a taste of 2000.
Therefor I can estimate my skill level to be somewhere between 1750 and 2050 on Lichess.
I have a weird theory that ratings are controled, but thats just me.....
