Cheating problem

@SdamTheDevourer said in #29:

I specifically mentioned that this is something I am experiencing at 1200+ elo and most of my games were below that.
If you did not received the message, most likely did not happened.

You dont even have the level to spot any cheater, probably more than half of the server can beat you.

The mere fact that some one beats you dont make them a cheater.

And the mere fact that people play a few moves in a row as a top engine move does not make them a cheater. I do play top engine moves for 7-10 moves here and there. It just means that the position of the game is understood by the player.

Cheating on Lichess is not a problem, its just an excuse you use.
If you want to use it, go ahead, it doesnt work because we dont care since its not an issue and it wont help you improve either.

Trying to be as accurate as possible is no crime & some moves are hard to find but not impossible & then pawns & pieces still fall ... sometimes without them being forced ... so mistakes are made & sometimes in easy to play simple chess positions great accuracy can be had & can occur quite frequently' . pre-move sometimes intimidate & look so strong especially if you have the SOUND on high @SdamTheDevourer

I for one can't tell if someone is cheating against me. Sure, I get suspicious from time to time, especially when I do badly against lower rated players. So I send a report, if they get banned, that's good, if not, well, I suck at chess, what else is new.

Occasionally, it boils my piss too, when a stable 1800 level player gains 700 points in a month and keeps climbing, but I imagine mods have a lot on their plate.

Sadly.. I had the mind set of you, but fortunately had two people here a lot better than me, who to took the time to convince that the % cheating is very low... And that I was using possible cheating as an excuse to face the fact that I was not as good as I thought. That I had hard work to do .

And you are looking at the % accuracy wrong. If you play badly and the opponent plays moves that are easy to make his/her accuracy will be high. ... I only look at my accuracy % to judge how well my opponent played.

THIS POST RIGHT HERE!!! ^^^^^

They use chess engines or programmes, or that chess tutorial app with that stick pointing to the best move, in another tab, while playing a game at lichess.
It's a rather useless pastime, because non of them will understand what they are actually playing, they are just wasting their own free-time, only to end up whining about things they could have done otherwise.
I would like to see "Mr or Mrs Nextbestmove" at an OTB series of games that is publicly displayed, and all of a sudden , they are getting crushed before the Middlegame even started....

Hey @SdamTheDevourer..!

High Accuracy doesn't mean cheating, it is much easier to achieve when the position is easy (i.e. winning and simple) as the moves are obvious. Have you ever experienced during an easy win how the best moves just come to mind? On the other hand, it is much much difficult to get a high accuracy in difficult games. I've missed great moves against my 1000 rated friend as the position was complex. (I'm 1900 for reference.) Again, accuracy depends on individual moves, and not the gameplay, style and ideas

While your claims might be valid, I feel that nobody would want to cheat at 1200 rating, simply because if they cheat, they will be like 2200s or smth. Personally, I've never been at 1200 rating in lichess(I was playing at chess.com at the time) so my answer might not be accurate... Hope so you find my reply helpful.

Even if you face cheaters lets say ,which is already quite rare why are you focusing at them, cheaters dont block your path to improvement,if you do not practice you will think that anyone who plays against you is a cheater
