Cheaters, engines & robots

Why can't I have the names of those who cheated on me? I would like to permanently block them.

What do you want to achieve by blocking them? As long as you are not marked for cheating you won’t be playing them in the pool or in tournaments.

Hi M0r1 and thanks for the answer. You mean that anyone who cheated in 1 game with me will never be able to play me again?

Most likely, because they will be banned.
If they do play you again, they will likely not be cheating or the cheating report was wrong.

you know, cheaters get banned with near certainty. Doesn't matter who they cheated against. It only matters that they actually cheated. Many people are over-paranoid and think they're playing way more cheaters than they ACTUALLY do

The ban means they're only playing other marked people in the pool, their ratings won't change, and they're out of arenas, swiss and simuls

Thanks InkyDarkBird and thanks Cedur216 too. I'm not so sure if I understand the exact policy on cheaters but thanks again. Still I want to know who was the cheater and I want to examine our game. After all it was my game, my time, my life.

If you lost a rated game to a cheater then there's a chance you can have your points back and get a notification. Lichess won't tell you the name though.

You only rarely ever meet a cheater so you don't need to question the point of playing online chess

Cedur216 thanks for your answer but this is exactly my question. Why this is the only info I get? I also want to know the game I have been fooled. I really don't care about points or rating.
P.S. I see your smiling face on my initial question. May I know what is the funny about it? Thanks.

when lichess marks someone for cheating, there is no guarantee that they cheated in the game against you.
