I've got a book on Complete Chess and I don't have a physical chessboard, but with a 24" monitor, I shouldn't need one in 2025, right? I'd like to use Lichess like a real chessboard to practice tactics from a book.
I'd done some digging under Study, but beyond examples people post on here, I can't figure out how to practice solo on here.
Thank you!
John

Yes, you don't need a real board for that. Go to Tools -> Board editor. Then you just set up the position and you'll see a button to continue from it, which means playing it against the computer, or if you just want to analyze it there's a button for that too.
If what you want is to create a study, then you go to Learn -> Study and then click on the green + button. You also set up the position, but you can add comments, arrows, quizzes, and let other people see it. Studies are saved and shared (or not), whereas the stuff you analyze outside of a study is lost after you close it.
