To be honest - companies like NSA crack even the publicly available code and find bugs in them, make ex-ploits but try not to reveal the data to the world - thats the most disgusting crackers. It should be prohibited by the open-source licence :) - if you find a security bug in the downloaded code and know how to make use of it you have to report it to the package maintainer :)

Wait, I've got a solution - I'm going to help Lichess out right now by becoming a Patron and recommending everyone do the same. This will certainly address this ridiculous notion of opening up source code and help Lichess grow beyond it's current codebase. Yep!
