Blitz rating distribution graph, observations

Hi,
I noticed that, on the blitz rating distribution graph (when clicking on Blitz on the left menu and then when clicking on the percentage “better than 62% of players” for example) that the graph looks almost like a normal distribution but to the difference that on the left side of the curve, the slope is very smooth, while on the right side, it has spikes on every 100 elo milestones. The spikes starts from 1200. How do you explain this phenomena?

It's called peaksitting. We all do it - when you reach a new milestone like 1600 or 1700 we tend to stop playing for a bit for fear of dipping below it, and switch to some other time control like rapid.
