@jeffforever I like positions that are more closed and with a clear purpose and objective, for example I like to play the French against e4.

I agree with @jeffforever !!! but I advise you a lot the defense slav, it is a very versatile opening with in particular the variant of exchange or the unknown but very interesting slav defense chameleon !!! of course it's a tip and if someone has one or more other ideas it's cool !!! good luck !!! have fun !!!

@Wolf227 Slav or Queen's Gambit might fit you then imo, although French is also quite a dynamic opening. Maybe even King's Indian might fit then with often closed pawn structures like in the French.

Queen's Indian (Against Nf3) Nimzo-Indian Complex (Against Nc3) can suit you well & you can play more than one set of openings as you can incorporate Queen's Gambit & Queen's Gambit Accepted (Occasional Slav also ?) . Most importantly is to play over complete games

Lots of good opinions here, but I really want to push back on people recommending Slav/Semi-Slav, especially after hearing that the OP prefers closed positions.
@Wolf227 If you want to go for Semi-Slav, you will face the Meran:

If you play the Slav, it's even crazier.
