Beginners, ask your chess questions

I don't mean to me, personally. My level is intermediate.

I have learned so much by dropping well thought out questions into the general chess forum.

One question I asked before was about securing files with rook placement. That was key in my game earlier today.

Yes, you can get good advice, and you can also learn things by reading the answers to questions posed by other users.

Did you create this thread as a place for us beginners or near-beginners to share the tips we've put to good use by asking questions in the forum, like you just did ?

Yes, I would like others to know this forum is a helpful resource for learning.

i would not say 1200 blitz on lichess is intermediate. Intermediate would propably be 1500 - 1800
1800+ would be more advanced. But you are a beginner and you have things to learn. Kb8 just hungs a queen at the spot. No intermediate does that.

1. how does horse move?
2. is it okay to cheat if youre really bad at it?
3. does moon made of cheese?
4. what happens if you try to copy your opponents moves for too long?
5. where is the fork? and,
6. when is dinner?

15+10 matchmaking is hell. 10+5 already takes 5-7 min on average
I don’t have much time to play 15+10, so I just play 10+5 or variants these days
I’ve tried analysing games (won and lost) and tried changing openings, studying endgames, etc etc. but not much improvement
The one thing I might need to do is to play more :P
