Be a sport and accept a takeback or two ---to before the blunder.

@Doofenshmirtz

Too many classical games (15 0) end up in time trouble.
It would be no benefit to exchange the 'slip' for a 'time deficit'.

If those who had the "confirm" option set, had say an extra 2 seconds per move...I could work with that.

If the claim is that "it's not fair", then the opposition could simply select that option as well.

Either way, you're stuck answering for the optics of a cold, snobby, conceited, non-friendly, asinine, group of self-congratulatory, ego-tripped, cowardly, atmosphere.

Actually I play chess and not takebackgammon. Good Lord, beware me of becoming a takebeggar, please.

@Sarg0n Mouseslips aren't a part of chess.
I play chess, not "take-advantage-of-mouse-slips-like-a-coward-and-a-miser-and-disgrace-the-good-name-of-chess-and-the-character-of-the-lichess-chess-community-as-a-whole-and-make-people-not-want-to-come-back-instead-of-building-a-chess-brother-sister-hood-FAMILY."

I always grant takeback requests in casual games until it becomes annoying (i.e. when my opponent asks for takebacks too many times, then I just resign).

I don't like to grant takeback requests on rated games because it'll artificially affect my rating and I want my rating to be as accurate as possible.
@Summersparkle

As for mouse slips, I treat it like OTB chess when I sometimes accidentally touch opponent piece (thinking it was mine) and then have to capture it due to the touch move rule. So no takebacks for me. Although if my opponent mouse slips and asks for takeback, I will grant it.
Mouseslips aren't a part of chess. A mouse isn't even required. You can enter moves with the keyboard. You can also turn on move confirmation and never make another mistake. If you play 0 increment chess, well, you are asking for time trouble. Give yourself time to move accurately or don't. Your choice, doesn't affect me. No takebacks.

I'm blind, I can't seem to find where one can turn off the take back feature, can someone screen cap it for me? I honestly must be blind lol

thanks in advance :)
Generally speaking here is how I deal with takeback requests.

Rated games: No take backs almost always. I'd say 90+% of the time deny a takeback. However if it's a game with longer time controls, and it's a very clear mouse slip, like they move a rook to capture your rook, but fall 1 square short making a move that I couldn't really consider to be anything but a mouse slip. I really shouldn't, but in such cases I take pity.

Casual games: Here I am much more willing with giving a take back, but there are some cases that I do not. Generally the main reason I wouldn't give a take back in casual is it would put me into a worse / losing position. For instance I'm playing down a bishop that I blundered, and I could have offered a take back, but did not... Play continues, you blunder a rook... Not gonna give a take back there, because where were the offers to give me a take back when I dropped material?
