Anyone really good with chessbase?

I recently invested in chessbase to help improve my play and while there is a lot of info available, it is NOT very user friendly. Is anyone particularly familiar or know of a chessbase for dummies kind of guide?

Thanks,

Chessbase is not for our level it's for professional players. Some professional do not even have it. But I have skills I learned from Fritz. Fritz and Chessbase make opening books and making, managing databases are practically the same, The difference is Chessbase has more advanced features most probably. But the advantage with Fritz you can play the books into a full game against an engine. In Chessbase you cannot play games.

Chessbase is the best chess database, no question! It has lots of useful features and a ton of games, far more than lichess.
If you're new to Chessbase, there are many videos on YouTube that explain specific features. The Chessbase website also has useful articles and when a new version comes out they'll explain what has changed.

As Chessbase is not free/libre, you should not use it if you value your freedom. See https://gnu.org/p/free-sw for more info about free software. In addition, Chessbase is a terrible company and even illegally used Stockfish code in their chess engine (although I believe that is resolved now).

It's probably to late too get your money back, but I recommend using Scid instead. I use it and like it a lot.

I have been using it for 32 years. There's hardly any good player who doesn't use it. I think I know everything, like to cope with some bugs which stem from the last the century...

When I was writing this I realized I wrote the wrong "to" but then I changed the wrong one! That's what I get for writing posts here when I should be sleeping....

Yeah, I felt the same way when I first started using ChessBase. The learning curve took me several months to get through, and it was definitely challenging. However, I think it’s worth the effort in the end. Keep in mind that ChessBase is primarily a DATABASE software, and managing expectations can be difficult if you haven't used database software before. For tutorial, try any YouTube videos by Sagar.

Thanks, I'm planning to use it to study openings a bit more and the middlegames/endgames that come out of my openings by going through the games in the database. I have been able to sort by ECO overall and by individual player so far like all karpov's games in the QGD kinda thing. There's also the play a few moves and find all games with that position, but is there a way to start a new game play through say 10 moves and then sort for a specific player/result of those games? Like all Fischer's games that were in a particular Sicilian line sort of thing.
