Account Hacking

A month or two ago a social lichess user with active team got hacked, and his account was flagged. He did come back on a new account, but I'm curious as to how this happened. The only way I can think of is that this guy shared his password, which is beyond stupid. (blunder lol)
Any thoughts?

@kertandidi
There has been many occasions of this happening before.
Perhaps someone sent them a malicious link, a exact copy of lichess, but a slight url change like "lichesss. org".

Once on that website, they are immediately not in their account anymore, so they log back in. Unfortunately, the passwords are recorded, and the hackers find out.

Other cases could be they already have a virus, that infects their computer by recording every character they type.

There is also always the person who hacks into their account on purpose.

This could happen from a rival team, make sure to protect yourself by
-always checking links
-making a strong password

Remember, just because a website has "https" on it doesn't mean it's secure.
Make sure to stay safe online!
