Also, I see that your opening loses a pawn and I think you should switch to a more preferable opening rather than this.

That's the "Smith-Morra" it's a legit opening. In terms of gambits it's about as sound as it gets.

I say you should look at the whole board and check if your move is good.

Lol - that's the hard part. I feel like some people are born with this discipline, and they become titled players (assuming they start early enough), but as an adult, it's very hard to implement this discipline on every single move.

Good news, you play attacking chess (Smith Morra Gambit). That's the way we get better in chess !!
You don't worry too much about mistake in tactics (All player from beginner to GM have the same problem). I play against 21++player regular, they often give me free pieces or i give them a free pawn (LOL). In bullet, I often see title player (FM, GM) miss checkmate in 1. That's no problem. We just reduce this tactics blunder by develope the feel of danger zone. Training with tactics theme. : weak king position (can check, backrank), loose pieces (en prise, no protected), pieces under attack, pieces overload, pieces limit mobility, pieces on the same weak diagonal ( for Pin, Skew)....
