3 check chess engine

Hello, does anyone know if there is a better 3 check engine out there? I know there is one for crazyhouse, because thefinnisher gets his openings from a different engine. THanks!

Hope this covers it all @gavity

It's the same engine, Multi-Variant Stockfish, but it's run natively on your computer, either by a command line or by a GUI (interface). The main differences are...

  • native engine is able to use as many CPU threads as you want/have, as the online version was a bit limited. Although, now that they have multi-thread WASMX for variants, the online version has catched up.
  • lichess analysis board timeouts after 2 hours of analysing (there is a console trick to remove that), running it natively doesn't do that
  • it's not saved in cloud, the analysis is just for your eyes 👀

I'm using WinBoard to run it, I know that some use CuteChess for Crazyhouse. WinBoard supports Three-Check too, not sure about CuteChess. If you are running into problems, check out "Winboard + SF package" from thread linked below.

For crazyhouse, there is a Neural Network engine, CrazyAra, which gives interesting practical ideas and completes Stockfish analysis.

thank you @TheFinnisher for your information. The original winboard I can't get because my laptop can't support it, but the winboard + SF package I can. However, once I downloaded it I have no idea what to do because there is just a bunch of folders in my finder. I am sorry if I am bothering you, and you don't have to respond.
