Tips on how to analyze without engine

@thesonics said in #3:

yea but for example u hear some FMs and such say "if u analyze only with the engine u will keep on sucking at chess forever"... so im trying to understand how u learn to actually see missed tactics and misevaluated trades or whatever in a game with just your own analysis.. cuz if u didnt see it in the game why would you suddenly see it later

One has unlimited time when analyzing and you use it to calculate deeply.
When playing I am focused on a plan. When analysing I can try random moves and esoteric ideas, that's how I sometimes see missed tactics etc.

You will never play like an engine so why take the engines suggestions?
The engines evaluations are the result of an engine playing itself...
Unless you are an elite player is this really any use to you?
