Eevrybody
I am a big fan of the stafford gambit
Even many gm hikaru and many im said it is good for intermediate like me but why does stockfish say it is a blunder like why??

Nope it is not
Kasparov said that every opening is good even boncloud we are the one who should decide it

I personally love this opening, but if the opponent plays perfectly you will be down a pawn in the endgame with a worse pawn structure. Hence it is objectivley bad, doesn't mean it is a bad opening.

The Stafford Gambit's Nc6 immediately loses 2 full pawns in the Stockfish evaluation. While an unwary human opponent can misstep pretty easily into one of its numerous traps, these are tactical blunders that the engine clearly sees through.

With proper play, white ends up with strong central pawns and gains several tempi against black's attacking pieces during development.

The Stafford IS a blunder. It just counts on counterblunders from your opponent. It is "hope chess" with a few more traps than usual.

Stockfish doesn't like tricky openings, because he can defend, while we humans cannot.
Sf just takes the pawn and wins.

Do not worry what Stockfish says in the opening. Those +3 or something means nothing up to about 2000 lichess level.

Stockfish even thinks Dragon variation is an inaccuracy. Turns out he's right.

Black is not lost in the Dragon, yes, he can equalize after a long struggle, around move 80. Something he usually does around move 15 in the Najdorf :)
