Question about computer analysis

Hello!
Can you explain to me please, what "average centipawn loss" means in a computer analysis? How much, or less is good, average, bad, etc? I understand the terms of inaccuracies, mistakes, and blunders, but that centipawn loss is new to me! Thx!

I guess playing only top engine moves gives you 0 centipawn loss. 100 centipawn loss per move actually means you lose -1 in engine evaluation, wich is alot (blundering a pawn each move). I think i can lose around 30 centipawns on average wich is quite ok as long as your opponent loses more :)

The best players lose under 10. I think 30 is a good level

My last 3 games was 15-57-41. But I belive, it's harder to not have high centipawn loss against players who make better moves, than against "weaker" players (who make not too good moves I mean). Is that right?

@Aronszakacs No centipawn loss is all about your own play, it has nothing to do with your opponents. What city in Hungary you from btw? I live there now :)

I live in Szigetmonostor, but its offtopic! :D
Back to the point. But if centipawn loss is related to the engine top moves (you said, 0 centipawn loss = i make all the best moves (at least according to the engine, that gives that evaluation), than it must be related to the opponent as well. If opponent makes very strong moves, = less move will be top engine moves= harder to find them, so I get more centipawn losses if I cant find them all the time?

I live near Pécs :)

I'm not sure if that's correct. In my opinion all positions are hard, especially when you are looking for the top engine move. Centipawn loss is not really that interesting. In endgames for example, you can go from +15 to +5 wich is a centipawn loss of 1000. Wich is very bad for your average. But in fact you still have a winning advantage and maybe even played the perfect human move to simplify into a position you know is winning.

Hmm, I think I will start collecting data, and compare centipawn losses against opponents, who had very high, and very low centipawn losses in my games. Maybe it will tell, if there is a significant relation. Thank you for your replies, and input. I think i understand it a little more now. :D

If opponent scholar mates you without the support of their bishop
That is , if they blunder their queen on second or third move .... Your Acpl will be less than 5 even if you lose a piece or two later

Is there anyway to expand the computer evaluation in a study?
