Blunder: Why?

Why stockfish tells me Nd7 is a blunder?

I'm very low rated, so this must be something far off my ELO.

Somebody who is a stronger player than me will probably have a better answer, but here is my first impression.

It's not that Nd7 is a bad move per se, but rather than Bd7 is a much better one.

With Bd7, white's queen must retreat with Qb3. After that, black's knight can pick up a free pawn with Nxe4 :)

If, on the other hand, black blocks with Nd7, then white's queen doesn't have to move, and black gives up the chance to grab the hanging pawn on e4.

Consequently the engine considers a Nd7 a "blunder" because it has these downsides relative to Bd7.

I'm wondering why here seems to be no chess board inside the forum whatever format for the FEN I try..

I already thought so. But the queen can capture the pawn after Bd7, hence my confusion.

After Bd7 Qxb7 Rb8 Qxa7 Nxe4 Black has fantastic piece play, while Nd7 is just passive.

There is more to chess than just counting pawns. However assessing unbalanced positions is often not easy.

" fantastic piece play" Okay, apparently something that only becomes relevant well above my ELO.
It's a shame I can't configure Stockfish to only display relevant blunders related to my ELO and blitz.
