Looks like the best you can do is use the "Edit" feature to erase your own post but it seems a few characters are required...At least from my Ipad.
Perhaps you can delete a post or comment if you started the thread, a bit similarly to when one has a team and administer its discussion forum. Should that be the case, a little "garbage bin" icon should clearly appear next to the username who posted.

:-) I don't fight. I just respond. The reason I said @ProfDrHack missed my point was because he went into old Tarrasch vs Steinitz ideas when my communication distinctly said, "Based on". Which means it's a modern interpretation with updates on the laws of chess. No one ever "refuted" steinitz. They thought they did. And when ever they reexamined the ideas they always went back to steinitz. Yeah.. Maybe they had to update and revise, but they always went back to Steinitz. And to bring up Tarrasch as if he had a say in refuting him was just as bad as using the old Darwin argument to dispute modern evolution. The reason I said, "I will let you think that way.." Was because I didn't care to debate back and forth when the original point of modernization was obviously overlooked.
On the smug idea? That is hilarious to me. Why? Because everyone who think people are being smug are usually people insecure about themselves and get offended by normal conversation. Try to just participate in a topic and communicate like equals and if you never take offense to anything, you never have problems. Be like me. Just talk and not worry about people that get offended. If that is smug I am proud of it.
Enjoy!

Please be proud but the last person that said enjoy to me destroyed my life forever lol. Anyhow did alphazero have steinitz principles? If not, his principle could be compared to "if you are tired you must go to sleep instead e=mc2 for chess beginners.

Which one is alphazero? Is that the new one? I don't follow engines. I hate engines.

i also dont follow them, but according to what i have heard its googles engine that got its knowledge simply by playing itself.

I guess that's cool. I sometimes go into the analysis section here to see how close I get to 8 CPL, and if I can get a 0 0 0 score. Beyond that I usually ignore the analysis. Could be why I am still around 2050 instead of breaking 2200.

Maybe or you a trapped in a psychological trap telling your subconcious mind because of this and that im inferior. And thats why halfwitted people who lack the awareness of the boundaries of their competence will beat you.

I agree. I still have to get passed the fact that I can compete. I had this problem when I was 1800 trying to believe I could compete with 1900 and 2000 level players. So I am forcing myself to play in as many tournaments as possible.
My last tournament I had a position that stockfish claimed I had a 1.9 advantage in the middle game against a 2400. And the advantage lasted into the late middle game. Then I had a choice between two moves. I knew the one that gave and maintained the advantage but I talked myself into the inferior move.. and got into a worse position for the endgame. Then I outplayed him in the endgame and got an equal position. Then something distracted me in a critical position and I made a bad move and lost. When I put it into the computer I realized most of my evaluations were correct. And the point in which I was distracted was actually a problem for me, because I don't believe I would have known the correct move. When re-evaluating it, I figure that position is probably a starting point to me learning how to compete with 2400 players. Most of my tournaments are like that too. And I think mostly it's getting over the trap you speak of.

Also: I have to get better at defending. When I am in equal positions or winning positions I play wonderfully. When I get into a bad position or I get heavily attacked, I tend to get flustered even in long time controls and buckle. And I don't mean gambit play or wild attacking players who think they are attacking. I mean real attacks. In one of my training games here against a buddy of mine who is a strong player, attacked me with a real attack and I basically laid down and let him run over me and then thanked him for the sore bung hole afterward. It was sad... I need more beatings like that though so I can learn to put up defense.
