Probably to troll their opponent for not resigning, but like I said in #2, I doubt OP even realized that three more moves would've been a draw. Thus, it completely justifies not resigning since if Black had even one more second they likely would've drawn. Maybe I'm not giving OP enough credit and they actually were planning to checkmate in two more moves though, who knows.
