The Vienna is rare. It makes no sense to substitute 1 e4 Nc6 for 1 e4 e5 because of the Vienna. The Nimzovich 1 e4 Nc6 is fine, but 2 d4 or 2 Nf3 are much more frequent than 2 Nc3.
@TotalNoob69 Cool gambit idea. Thank you.
Good bro
It's a pretty strong assumption to claim "Vienna players" will go for 3.f4 instead of 3.d4. The latter obviously makes more sense and as black hasn't played e5 yet it's not like it's going to be a Vienna anyhow.
My shortened thoughts
1.e4 Nc5 [Uncommon, probably for good reasons]
2.Nc3 [Blocks the key d5 break in the Nimzo, and invites a transposition to the Vienna] Nf6 [Develops, and prepares d5]
3.d4 [Takes the center, and threatens the awkward 4.e5] d5 [black's most consistent reply. d6 transposing to a worse version of the modern defence may be better though]
4.e5 Nd7 [Position is significantly better for white, as long as he doesn't take the pawn here]
@cuendillar I suppose you meant 1... Nc6.
I've added a 3.d4 chapter to the study. I would not play 4...d5, instead e5, entering the Breyer variation. And in all of the most common lines there are some funny responses to enjoy and equalize for Black.
White will most likely push e5, to which either Ne7 leading to a center of the board fortress and a king side attack, or Nd4 leading to White trying and failing to dislodge it from there and blundering in the process.

I agree with cuendillar, as there is no Vienna without black playing e5. You're looking at a Nimzovich Defense with 2.Nc3, Interesting, yes, but no Vienna.
Hi, nice post!
Just you wrote "So we're going to go... 7... h5" instead of the correct "So we're going to go... 7... Bh5".
Hopefully nobody tried this one XD

Thanks :) I always mess up chess notation. My brain just glosses over it...

The point was to reply to a Vienna player. If they play d4 it's already a win for you, since they're not playing their fav opening. But I thank you for the feedback. Funny enough, if you look into the new d4 chapter, going for the best moves White can play reaches a Vienna like position anyway, a tempo behind for Black. This meaning a knight on c3 and the f and e pawns on the 4th rank.
