I hope he gets his title revoked for a whole 2 years and is banned from playing chess OTB for 2 years.
This type of behavior from a GM is most unacceptable.

I find it troubling that he was charged only with 4th Degree Assault in that one case. I understand he was upset, but that does not excuse physically assaulting someone. Once again, a privileged man gets to walk...

Lets not jump to conclusions without listening to what Yoo has to say. We’ve seen many cases in which the allegations of a woman were not as initially potrayed and someone’s career can be ended by those allegations. We know nothing about this situation but what the woman said, and apparently there is no evidence but her word. She may be right, but maybe things are not 100% as she paints them. Just saying

I agree that he should have to spend more time away from OTB Chess. I also feel that FIDE should step in...

I was wondering how long it would be before someone came along to try to cast doubts on the woman's testimony as if she just made it all up to damage his reputation and end his career.
if you read the various articles referenced in the blog, especially the Hindustan Times, you will note that there were many witnesses to these events including friends and an IM who were quoted in the articles.
So saying "apparently there is no evidence but her word" is patently untrue. There are witnesses and they can make witness statements to the authorities, testifying to what they personally witnessed. These witnesses can be called to give evidence to any inquiry or investigation. She is indeed lucky that there were witnesses, because in many such situations, there are none and it is just he said/she said.

That is incorrect. The victim has made her case but Yoo hasn’t been quoted at all. Maybe you live under a totalitarian regime, in my country, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. If you think you can condemn someone based on what you read, you are delusional at least, and certainly dangerous.

I completely understand the seriousness and harmfulness of his actions, and it is indeed unacceptable. An OTB 2-year ban would also not at all be unreasonable imo. However, I would argue that the GM title is awarded not on any behavioral basis but only on chess skill, which Yoo has demonstrated. I don't think any behavior outside of those that influence play, such as cheating, harassing opponents during the game, match fixing, etc. should cause a chess title to be revoked. Also, if FIDE had the authority and capability to revoke titles based on behavior, the titles that are meant to show chess skill could be revoked by a small group of people in authority if they disagreed with a player's opinion, behavior, and could become risky and arbitrary for players.

I haven't quoted Yoo, because I haven't seen any quotes from him. Maybe he has been advised not to talk to the press since it might prejudice any investigation, idk.
I am just reporting the facts as I have found them from various sources.
No, I don't live under a totalitarian regime.
The facts are that he has been temporarily suspended by FIDE pending investigation of the allegations made, no one is presuming guilt here.
I don't think I am delusional, or dangerous.
