Everything you need to improve at Antichess!

Hello everyone. In this post, I will give you tips to improve at Antichess.

For new players

So, lets start with the basics. If you are a new player, you might want to start with this amazing study by tolius, which gives you some opening knowledge, tells you how to counter opening traps and a bit of middlegame tactics:

https://lichess.org/study/4XBZbCFY/bBohiIrg

For players who have familiarised themselves with the rules (1400-1600)

Once you know the rules and basic opening traps, I would suggest you to analyse every lost game and check where you did the wrong moves which made you lose. I would recommend this at all levels. For studies related to this level, I have this study by one of the best Antichess players in the world, Florentin Olteanu:

https://lichess.org/study/qD1BpT77/XaGakxvA

there is also an endgame guide by ODMWND which goes over almost all possible endgames in Antichess:
https://lichess.org/study/VFsD8X5H/5js56FXn

and an exceptions study by DGaleano which goes over the exceptional cases in endgames in Antichess:
https://lichess.org/study/Mp15Ws5Z/xL8KhitJ

For regular players (1600-1800)

Once you get to that level, you should pay attention on weird opening traps. Luckily, there is an opening encyclopedia in two parts by Azoha:

https://lichess.org/study/7NU0Q3hs/kwDiNaSw

https://lichess.org/study/vPaL6KDW/KuH2FTQc

There is also an intermediate moves study by firebatprime:

And a random tactics for 1600-1900 level by our dear Flo:

For advanced players (1800-2000)

This is where the middlegame is the most important. There are lots of studies+puzzles for this level. First one are basic middlegame excercises by Azoha:

Conclusion

So, as you see, here are the great studies by the masters. There are a few videos too, which I recommend for all levels:

Queen Racing tips by NMA:

  1. Don't take the 3rd rank/6th rank pawn.(in general cases)
  2. Count the number of pieces/pawns your opponent have. If you have less than maybe go for queen race.
  3. If you have given up too many pieces/pawns it's better to go for a queen race and vice versa.
  4. Pawns are the weakest, so try to capture the pieces first (except one or two).
  5. Always try to have options for your queen. If your queen have only one possible move then you might be in trouble.
  6. Don't let your opponent capture your queen too early in a queen race.
  7. Don't race with Kex.

Thats all for today and thank you for reading this post. Hope you follow these steps and improve.
