Calculate till the end

When playing a tactic, try and calculate till the end. If you don't, chances are that it will backfire! In the featured game, black made a natural looking bishop sacrifice, but clearly did so without calculating far enough.

Don't panic when the opponent attacks

If your opponent suddenly makes an unexpected sacrifice, don't panic! The sensible thing to do is to stay calm and calculate. If your opponent miscalculated, you may actually be in a winning position!

Counter attack

The best way of defence is often to attack. In this game, black was the first to attack, but it was not a solid line of offence. White counter attacked and won quickly.
